in Job Search Websites

Www.career.com is a job search engine which is run by Indeed.

Using this website is very simple. You just have to supply two pieces of information, the job title you’re seeking, and your location. Once you click the “Search” button, or hit enter, a page of results will come up which can be refined according to your preference. For example, you can choose to view job openings which as a minimum salary, or choose to view only full time or part time jobs. If there are too many results available, you can also restrict your results by date and choose to view only the latest postings. If these refinement options are not enough for you, you can also use the “Power Search” option on the home page. This option allows you to search for jobs based on more than one keyword, or exclude jobs based on a keyword, or to search for an working opportunity from a specific company. With this option, you can also choose to exclude staffing agencies. This could be useful because many people view staffing agencies as a waste of their time, because staffing agencies often ask them to sign up and provide them with a resume and a phone number, promising to call them if an employment opportunity arises, but it almost never materializes.

How does this search engine differ from other major job search engines? Although this search engine is owned by Indeed.com, the results obtained from www.career.com are completely different from that obtained by searching with the same keyword at the Indeed website. This is because Indeed is a classified ad site, where employers pay to post their jobs, while this site is an aggregator site, which collects information about job openings from corporate webpages and job boards on the internet. If you are currently looking for employment opportunities, it is well worth your time to use both of these sites, since they give distinct and different results.

For people who are interested in knowing websites like career.com, dice.com and careerbuilder.com may be useful.
