in Job Search Websites

Www.careerjet.com is a job search engine which aggregates job offerings from other websites on the internet, such as corporate webpages, job boards, and other search engines. It claims to scan at least 50 thousand sites and add thousands of jobs to its database daily. To use this web site, you merely type the title of the position you’re seeking into the “what” field, and your city into the “where” field. The results can be refined based on frequently appearing keywords. You can also set up an email alert which will email you whenever new results appear on your search. In addition, you can also choose to receive alerts via RSS feed, Twitter, LinkedIn or Facebook. Finally, you can also choose to simply browse the available jobs by industry or by location.

Compared to other aggregation-based job search sites, this one has more duplicate content as well as a less refined database. For example, the aggregation site career.com tries to identify the company and the salary range of the job content that it scrapes from other websites, allowing you to refine your results by salary range or company name, whereas this one has no such functionality. In addition, a large proportion of the jobs seemed to be derived from careerbuilder.com, which often overlaps with jobs shown on forums (typically reposted by helpful forum members), resulting in a large proportion of duplicate job postings. However, I found that the browse by location function is quite useful, and may alert you to a job opening that is not well-phrased and therefore may not turn up in a simple keyword search. Still, browsing by location gives many results, which will take some time to work through.

If you are looking for websites like careerjet.com, you may be happy to know jobcentral.com and indeed.com.
