in Job Search Websites

Www.craigslist.org is the world’s largest classified ads website, and many job advertisements appear on it. The website is named after Craig Newmark, its founder. It is organized around major cities around the world, although you will be automatically routed to the correct site according to your IP address when you visit the site. Craigslist focuses on local listings, and it is especially popular with small business owners. This is because it is free to post working opportunities on the advertisement website. The jobs on Craigslst tend to be low paying clerical and administrative ones, although there are some professional jobs also available. This job posting site is also very good for obtaining temp positions over the summer, or for part-time gigs.

However, because it is free to post on Craigslist, it has been plagued by some fraudulent scams which ask applicants to pay up for services such as background checks and credit checks. Always ignore these unreasonable requests. Requests to provide sensitive information such as your social security number or credit card number should also be rejected, as should requests asking you to click on links. A real job offer will simply ask you to email your resume, and then show up for an interview. No other information should be necessary from you before the job interview. If you steer clear of these job scams, you may well be able to obtain the employment you want from www.craigslist.org.

When looking for employment opportunities, you also want to make searches in major job searching engines like monster.com and careerbuilder.com. Also you can directly go to employer’s career website to see position openings. For example, if you want to work as a sales associate at Ann Taylor stores, you can check the Anntaylor career site.
